FSEOG Deadlines

2012-2013 FSEOG Application Deadlines

The Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant or FSEOG is a grant that is set aside for the neediest students going to college for their undergraduate degree. The grant amounts given are anywhere from $100 per school year to $4000 per school year depending on your financial need and the amount the school has available to give out to students.

The FSEOG deadline is a very important piece to the financial aid puzzle as you want to be sure that you get your application in fast enough to qualify and to make sure there are funds left for you to receive.

Federal Aid Application Deadline – The deadline for the FAFSA for the 2012-2013 school year is not until June 30th, 2013. This is the last day that you can submit an application and be considered for federal aid. Some federal aid can be paid retroactive, so even if you are almost done with the school year, you might be eligible for some aid.

The FSEOG is a very limited grant and most of the time the FSEOG funds are depleted in the first few months of the school year. It is very important to get your FSEOG application in as soon after it is made available on January 1st as you can. If you need to go back and make corrections after your taxes are done, you can.

School Based Deadlines – Each school might have a specific deadline that you must file to be considered for other aid. Check with your specific school to see what these deadlines are.

State Based Deadlines – Most states give out their own aid as well as federal aid and these states have their own deadlines that you must have your FAFSA or state financial aid application submitted by. The dates below are provided by the schools, so double check to make sure they are correct.
